Tattooists, Piercing and Electrolysis Registration

To carry out tattooing, cosmetic piercing, micropigmentation and electrolysis, both the premises and the person carrying out the activity need to be registered with the Council.

This is a service where there is an associated fee or charge.

A registration form can be printed by clicking on the link on the right of this page. The fee for registration is outlined at the bottom of the registration form. Registration is not required if carried out under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner.

The purpose of registration is to prevent infection of the person whose skin is pierced by the activity. Registered skin piercing personnel and premises must comply with byelaws designed to prevent infection.
